Barbara Wood Roberts, PhD

Founding Director

The focus of this work is the design of an assessment model of intercultural competence based on Griffith, Wolfeld, Armon, Rios, and Liu’s (2016) framework of intercultural competence in higher education. Using structural equation modeling we found goodness-of-fit for the assessment variables predicting to intercultural competence. The culmination of seven years of scholarly pursuit, the Intercultural Competence Lab (ICL) is located in the Diversity Resource Center. The ICL was established in partnership with ISU’s Office of Equity and Inclusion and is affiliated with the department of psychology where Dr. Roberts serves as an adjunct assistant professor.
